About
Angharad Jenkins is a fiddle player and composer from the seaside town of Mumbles near Swansea. Recently described as ‘one of the dynamos of the Welsh folk scene’, Angharad is passionate about pushing the tradition into the twenty-first century.
She is a founding member of the celebrated Welsh folk group Calan, who have toured extensively around the UK, Europe and North America. Her innovative and experimental approach has also lead her to work with poets and artists, as well as on theatre productions. She also plays with her mother, the harpist Delyth Jenkins.
When she's not following a busy touring schedule, she manages projects, including youth music projects and and multi-artist professional development projects.
She is also interested in how music can help others, and through her work with Live Music Now, she works in SEND schools and care homes.
